A series of cross country races, involving 18 local running clubs, held on Sunday mornings starting-at 11am-during November - March.  Courses are a mixture of woodland trails and parkland, usually 3.5 to 5 miles in length, organised by the clubs in the league. 

Men and women compete in the same race with the first 5 men and first 3 women from each club scoring points.  All abilities take part and even non-scorers can affect the result by getting ahead of scorers from other clubs.

Races are free to enter . Just turn up to take part but make sure you race in a Liss Runners top . If you don't you may well be disqualified.

This league is a lot more relaxed and social than the Hampshire Cross Country League . There is a speed limit to prevent the racing snakes taking part: For the ladies it's 6' 00" per mile over a distance of 5 miles or more in races in the year preceeding the first race . This equates to 30' 00" for a race of 5 miles , 37' 15" for a 10km and 60' 00" for a 10mile race. For the men it's 5' 30" per mile ; equating to 27' 30" for a 5 mile race , 34' 09" for a 10km and 55' 00" for 10 miles.

The host clubs lay on a bit of food and drink and the end of the race for a payment of a £1 . Please attend if you can . A good way to chat about the race , stock up on food and drink and give a chance for the host club help pay for the race. We have not got a suitable location for this. So unfortunatly the Liss race does not provide this.

Hants. ; 13th Dec. : The Bourne Woods - Farnham Runners ; 4th Jan. : Lord Wandsworth College, Odiham - Hart Road Runners/Fleet and Crookham AC ; 24th Jan: Rogate Common - Liss Runners : 7th Feb. : Manor Farm Country Park - Stubbington Green Runners and A.C. and 14th of March : Staunton Park - Denmead Striders.   

Note: Help is needed for our one on the 24th Jan. If you can possibly help out with marshalling , number giving out , car parking etc. please tell Tom or put your name down on the sheet on the club notice board.
