These are a series of races on a Wednesday evening - instead of training - on the second Wednesday of every month , from April to September.

The coures vary in distances from 3.5 to 4.3 miles and are well marked around the Liss area.

The first race is a scratch race with everybody setting off together . This gives each runner their handicap time . Each race after this one , runners are set off in time intervals depanding on their finishing time in the first race. The system is aimed at everyone finishing together . It's worked out well in the past with the majority of runners finishing in a two minute window . A hard task for the results collector!

Points are awarded for each finishing position . The winner at the end of the season is the one with the most points. Consistency is the key along with attending the most races. You can afford to miss one race if you have to as your five best race results count , your worst is discounted. Their are prizes for the winners.

The first race also doubles up as the Clubs' Championships and is known as Trevor's Challenge in honor of the Clubs' founder : Trevor Stodard . Trophies will be awarded to category winners.

The races are very social with early finishers giving a lot of support for the latter finishers . So don't miss out on the fun! 

The six races are as follows:-

Race 1 : 14th April : Route to be confirmed.

                                                 
Race 2 : 12th May – may be: 3.74 miles starting from Newman Collard car park. Turn left out of the car park, to head uphill towards Hillbrow. Turn right at Stodham Lane. Turn left up Pruett’s Lane. At the top turn right to go along the old A3. Turn right downhill at Stodham Lane. Turn right at the bottom. Continue until the triangle is reached. Turn left, continue to Andlers Ash road. Turn right, continue to end, cross over into Newman Collard’s car park. Turn left at footpath, finish at end of the road.

Race 3 : 9th June – may be: 4.28 miles starting from Newman Collard’s car park. Turn left out of car park, go uphill to Hillbrow, turn left along old A3. Continue to Flying Bull. Turn left at end of car park. Take left hand fork downhill. Continue to bottom. Turn left and continue back to clubhouse.
 
Race 4 : 14th July – may be: 2 loops (sub 2.5 miles each tbc) starting from clubhouse. Run along Mill Road, towards level crossing, turn right down Wilde Green Lane. At end turn right, run back towards clubhouse, then turn left at Huntsbottom Lane. Follow lane, then keep right and continue uphill until reaching Hillbrow road. Turn right to go downhill towards Liss again, right into Newman Collard and back to triangle centre and repeat.

Race 5 : 11th August may be: – Start at Mint Road – as 2007 – details to follow.

Race 6 : 8th September, may be: 3.58 miles starting from clubhouse. Run along Mill Road, towards level crossing, turn right down Wilde Green Lane. At end turn right, run back towards clubhouse, then turn left at Huntsbottom Lane. Follow lane, then keep right and continue uphill until reaching Hillbrow road. Turn right to go downhill towards Liss again, then cross road and turn left down Stodham Lane. Continue along Stodham Lane until reaching the triangle. Turn right towards Andlers Ash road. At junction turn right along Andlers Ash road. Cross over to Newman Collards car park, turn left at end and finish at junction with club road.

Gary Lomas: 212 points ; Sarah Matthews: 183 ; Tim Greenwood: 180 ; Rose Lewis: 176 ; Chris Wilson: 174 ; Rob Hall: 163 ; Lesley Evans: 162 ; David Auger: 158 ; Tom Greenwood: 135 ; Yvonne Grayson: 127.

Note: it's the best 5 out of 6 races. So any of the top seven can claim the overall title.
