We also participate in the Hampshire Road Race League, a series of events held each year with the season running from September to the following June.
Each year in August Liss Runners hosts an open race, The Harting Trail 10 mile race.
The South Downs Relay is a classic relay race over the entire South Downs (about 100 miles) involving a team of 6 runners and a minibus driver! It's a great team event and superb day out. Click on the button to the left to find out more.
New: Club Racing Awards 2018/ 2019:
This year the club is looking to award members that participate in the three leagues that we are involved in. There will be awards for each of the three leagues with points being earnt for participation and position attained. You don't have to be a fast runner to be in with a chance of winning overall as long as you regularly pull on a club vest.
How does it work?
For each of the three leagues 50 points will be awarded to each runner for each race that they complete. In addition to this each athlete will also be awarded with points for their position within the field based on a percentage of the field that they have beaten. If you win a race you will score a maximum of 150 points, but even somebody finishing in last place is guaranteed at least 50 points, so just turning out three times is as good as a win!
Each of the rounds of the Hampshire Cross Country League and the Southern Cross Country League will count towards the overall points in their respective awards competitions. The Hampshire Road Race League has more races so points for its competition will only be awarded to runners participating in 8 key races. More details of these races can be found on the HRRL page.
To qualify for each competition, you must be eligible to score points for the club in each of the respective leagues. By implication this excludes second-claim members from the HRRL competition.
