Suspension of Club Activities Due to Corona Virus Precautions:

An online meeting of the club committee held on Wednesday 10th June, approved a return to limited activities for the club in line with the current government advice on Covid-19. A decision was made to restart the Thursday ‘social’ run and the Sunday long runs. Wednesday training will not resume at this time. Other club events will also be reinstated in a phased manner and in accordance with the latest guidelines.

 

Current government guidance is that no groups can be of more than 6 people. To ensure this is complied with the committee has agreed a ‘pre-booking’ system for the sessions. If up to 6 runners are going to a session then the normal session will go ahead. If more than 6 then separate groups will be designated with different start times offset by 30 minutes from the previous group. This will be facilitated by an online ‘Doodle Poll’ system which will assist us in allocating groups. Where possible a group coordinator will be allocated for each group.

 

The club have also carried out a risk assessment of these arrangements and have introduced the following rules to minimise the risks associated with the spread of Covid-19:

  1. You MUST follow the current government guidance on social distancing and other hygene measures.
  2. DO NOT turn up for training if you feel unwell or are exhibiting any symptoms of Covid-19.
  3. You must book all sessions in advance. Those members without a advance  booking will be turned away.
  4. The Newman Collard clubhouse building will remain unused at this time. Please ensure you bring water etc with you to sessions. Do not share water bottles with other runners.
  5. Do not allow other runners to join your ‘official’ group on the day.

 

Links to the Doodle polls for each session will be circulated to members by email. The first session is planned for Thursday 18th June.
