Harting 10 Trail Race
3rd August 2025

A 10 mile long multi-terrain race over private tarmac lanes, hard gravel tracks and some paths.  The route runs up to the top of the Downs, gently down towards Compton, along towards Chalton, up to Ditcham Park School, along part of the South Downs Way and back down to South Harting to finish on the sports field.  There are many superb views around the course.

Medals are awarded to all finishers, with trophies/cash prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female, and 1st male and female in age categories V40, V50, V60 and V70.  In addition, every finisher will be entered to win one of two pairs of Hoka trainers from our event sponsor.

There is a kids race for children aged 4 – 14 utilising a loop of approximately 400 meters around the sports ground.  Children can choose to run from 1 – 5 laps of the course and all children will receive a medal on completion, regardless of the distance they chose to run.

The event is organised under English Athletics permit number 29655 issued by Run Events.

The race headquarters are at the sports field just to the West of the village of South Harting on the B2146 Petersfield to Chichester road, nearest post code: GU31 5QA - w3w ///valid.pedicure.cliff

The race start is approximately 5 minutes walk away.  Turn left out of the sports field, up the main road and at the top take the lane on the left.

The route will be well signed and marshalled by enthusiastic Liss Runners members.  There will be mile markers, three water stations and medical support.  This course (10 miles) is measured as accurately as is practical over the rough ground in places.

Entry fee is £19 (£17 for EA Affiliated), the kids race is free.  50% of the money raised will go to The Rosemary Foundation, the supported charity of Liss Runners.

There will be a free post race massage courtesy of Body & Mind Physiotherapy, plus great cakes and refreshments at this relaxed, friendly and scenic event.

Important Notes:

  • To allow the course to be cleared and the event to be completed in a timely manner, entrants should be capable of completing the course in under 2 hours and 15 minutes.  Runners behind at the halfway schedule may be asked to withdraw and offered a lift back to the finish.
  • Please do not run if you feel unwell, there are limited medical facilities and local hospitals are some distance away from the event.
